A New, New Hope

That New, New Hope

New Hope Worship Center is a diverse family that values service, outreach, and works to engage people with God. Part of assisting them in their mission was to create a brand that folks could relate to, was uniquely theirs and spoke to their passion. So, we listened to what they had to say and brought forth an authentic brand that echoed their personality and pursuit.

Brand Elements

Flexibility and consistency are paramount when creating a system that has to represent, not only the church, but all of the programs, both internal and external, it supports. Way-finding, social, correspondence, etc. - it all had to work (and work together).

Color & Patterns

Our palette represents the moving from night (navy) into a new day (powder blue) and a new life (bright mint). The patterns were designed to add a layer of uniqueness to the brand and a 'human' touch (all were hand drawn).

The Reveal

Jessica and her team revealed the new brand to the flock during a special service at New Hope. Gotta say, we're pretty proud of all the nice things they had to say about it. And, we're thrilled the congregation has welcomed it with open arms. After all, we're designing brands that work for others, not for us. That is, at the end of the day, the reason why they work.

From the time we started tossing around the idea of rebranding, I knew that I wanted to hire Wier / Stewart. Their work definitely stood out and they had a great reputation in the community. What I can say today (having worked with them) is that they far surpassed any ideas that I had about them. There are so many wonderful things I could say about the W/S team – their talent, their creativity, their excellence, their unbelievable customer service... But the thing that stands out to me the most is their unrelenting desire to understand us. They didn’t sit in a room and try to tell us who we are – they came to us, came to services, engaged in conversation to really get to know who New Hope is and what our purpose is in the community. I think that’s why our new branding is perfect. It’s us. And it is us because they fought to understand us. They have become family.

Because New Hope’s “brand” personality and that of their congregation is diverse, joyful and vibrant, we knew the best visual expression would also be diverse, joyful and vibrant. We got this across in a variety of handcrafted patterns and a punchy palette, as well as an icon that subtly reveals a small slice of a big story. Our end goal was to give New Hope a toolbox to express their mission and reflect an authentic, familial community that is sharing with Augusta exactly what their name reflects.
