Making My Way Downtown
As the matchmaker of downtown, the Downtown Development Authority (DDA) puts the right people together to make our block a bigger, better place. From helping restaurants and bars navigate the ins and outs of local ordinances to making sure developers are talking to the appropriate stakeholders, they cover a lot of ground. So as the literal authority on downtown business, it was high time they looked like it.
It Takes Three
The DDA's job is to represent downtown Augusta, and we took that literally. The icon we created acts as birds-eye view of downtown, with the city skyline, Savannah River and our neighbors to the north all accounted for.
Painting the Town Red (-Orange)
Drawing inspiration from the eclectic mix that makes up Downtown Augusta we went bold. The energetic red-orange is emblematic of the DDA's active involvement with and passion for downtown, as well as the vibrant and ever-changing landscape it serves. It's balanced by the dependable and stable navy to give the authority a little authority.
“When it came to inspiration for the DDA I wanted it to represent something that every downtown Augustan would recognize, which was that iconic view of the river and our beautiful skyline. Their brand now represents downtown moving forward and prospering into something amazing."
