Fake It To Make It

Dear Lord, What Have We Done?

When we originally created the Fake It to Make It concept with our friends at SafeHomes, we had no idea how ridiculously outrageous this mega-fundraising event would become. Now in its 5th year, the contest has become one of the biggest, most entertaining nights of the year at the Miller Theater and is a guaranteed sellout. This lip sync battle royale continues to raise the bar on gathering donations and pushing boundaries in the name of charity.

Originally I felt like Fake It To Make It should look like the love child of The Price is Right and The Gong Show. More glitter in more places. As year 5 rolled around, I felt it was time to upscale it a little, as if it had been moved to a prime time evening slot. I always want SafeHomes projects to look like they are worth a million bucks because the folks they serve are worth it.

Judge Not - Unless You Are Asked.

After a star turn as, among others, Celine Dion, during his second place finish in 2018's FITMI (Fake It to Make It), Showpony's Sean Mooney was asked to be a judge. A role made for the man.

Hey Ladies in the Place

The women of W/S love to posse up for a good cause and a good time. Fake It to Make It definitely checks both those boxes.

When we approached W/S in 2015 with an idea for a lip sync challenge, we never imagined it would become what it is today. W/S was able to take our very raw idea, brand it and ultimately help take our fundraising efforts to a new level. Their team does an incredible job of collaborating with us to bring new aspects to the event. With their involvement, we are better able to reach our financial goals so we can support our mission of transforming victims of domestic violence into survivors.
