Dovetail Essentials partners with Wier / Stewart to develop SlumberPod® brand and packaging.

Sleep. The cherished luxury that some take for granted. When you are the parent of a baby or young child, it's a gift. A way to recharge your batteries. Regain the energy you put out chasing your non-stop crawling baby around the house. 

That precious downtime is just as important when you are traveling with a baby. So what do you do when all of a sudden you have to share a room as one big happy family? The sleep routine you worked so hard to master is now disrupted and you are left comforting an overtired baby at 4am. 

What you do is buy a SlumberPod®. It's a quick-assembly privacy pod developed by mom and daughter duo Katy Mallory and Lou Childs. It fits right over a playard to help babies/toddlers AND parents get a good night’s sleep. 

W/S partnered with Katy and Lou to help them create this life-changing product's identity, and packaging.

The Challenge

In an overwhelming world of baby products and baby specialty stores, (RIP Babies R Us®!) developing a brand and product that is going to stand out can be difficult. Lucky for us at W/S, SlumberPod is a truly unique product unlike anything else in the market.

We were consulted to help develop a brand that could hold its own alongside uber-successful brands like 4moms® and Graco®. It’s a challenge we gladly accepted.

The details matter.

Knowing that the SlumberPod brand needed to appeal to all parents, a unisex color palette was curated and typography was selected that would be both approachable and legible. It was essential that this brand stand out on the shelf, be inviting and work across various media types.

Dovetail Essentials

While SlumberPod may be the flagship product for Katy and Lou, we certainly know it's not their last. Along with developing a brand for their product-offerings, we needed to create a signature for the parent company, Dovetail Essentials. This mark should be a fan-favorite for all you carpenters out there.
