Earlier this year, Churchill Downs reached out to our team at W/S to discuss designing and developing an interactive filter for this year’s Kentucky Derby Though we don’t fancy ourselves milliners, we do deliver on fun and engaging social content.
…Hats Off
or more like hats on. It has been a long standing tradition for spectators at the greatest two minutes in sports to wear their best and most fashionable hats. From a jockey helmet to a wide brimmed sun hat, our team was able to select hats that represent all sorts of spectators.
This year, the question “Which Derby Hat Are You?” demands an answer. Though the next Derby is 367 days away, there is no time like the present. So make yourself a mint julep (#patioweather) and head to the Kentucky Derby’s Instagram to try this filter to see which hat is mint to be.

To find out your Derby hat, open up your Instagram app and search for the Kentucky Derby page. Click on the filter section (between IG TV & Tagged Photos), and select “Try It” in the bottom left corner on the Derby hat filter.
