Jonesing For Some Great Food

Opening soon, Noble Jones will bring the culinary vision of chef J.D. Wier to the awesome, outdoor-friendly location of the old Cotton Patch, a former downtown staple. Right off The Commons, Nojo (as it is already affectionately called) will bring together the influences of the chef’s career, which span from roadside dives to high-end Charleston eateries to private clubs from here to Texas. And there will be drinks. Good ones.

To launch the new brand, we created an identity paying homage to the sum of Nojo’s tastes – dirt road brisket shack meets sophisticated Southern cuisine. It’s a juxtaposition of sorts, but that’s what makes Noble Jones (and the food) so daggum interesting.

J.D. Wier, Proprietor

J.D. holds two degrees from Johnson Wales and has worked in restaurants from Charleston to San Antonio. His eclectic ideas around time honored Southern, Southwestern and Soul dishes are brought to life by his extensive training in French techniques. He’s a dessert master. If you’ve ever had his ice cream, then you know.

“To reflect NoJo’s varied styles and influences, we took an eclectic approach to its identity. The main logo is elegant, stable and classic, yet with an unexpected twist in its ‘neon sign’ stenciled style. Starting there, the brand references everything from romance novel typography to Chinese take-out menus, carving a niche for itself as the go-to eatery for a good time, a culinary adventure and cuisine of the highest caliber.”

“Being able to have a part in helping NoJo come to life has been a blast! There is no doubt that Noble Jones will bring a vibrant twist to downtown, Augusta. Can’t wait for opening day!”
