What’s the deal?
Augusta Tech has a very crucial symbiotic relationship with the community and economy in the Augusta River Region. It is a prime driver of growth, impacting those who attend AT as well as local businesses, on the one hand training students to change their careers and lives, and on the other providing a highly-skilled, job-ready talent pool.
It’s Time.
Our theme for the new Augusta Tech campaign speaks to the larger community, stands as a statement from the college, and motivates our target audience to enroll in the life-changing education that is Augusta Tech. It's time for Augusta Tech to shine, time for Augusta to grow, and time for those stuck in dead-end jobs to take their careers and quality of life to the next level.
The Strategy
Augusta Tech has big expansion plans and big ideas for how to even better serve our growing community. Coupled with a labor market in intense need of workers, it was the perfect timing to re-introduce Augusta Tech to the world, with a refreshed look and strong messaging. Highlighting the college’s amazing stats was key—faster, less-expensive programs, tight-knit relationships with employers, high job placement rates and a vast alumni body that is making an impact serving our city.

Timing is everything.
“This new brand speaks to Augusta Tech's time and the region's time to tell the nation who we are. A great work, live, play community with the talent to allow businesses to grow and prosper. Staying true to what is Augusta, we believe this brand will speak to our employees, students, alumni, and business and industry partners. Again, It's Time!” – Dr. Jermaine Whirl, President
The Brand
Color
Not your average higher-education palette. We wanted to represent the vibrant community and spirit that Augusta Tech has, rather than fall back into your typical “collegiate” tropes.
Typography
Zin Slab and Zin Sans are created to work in tandem, and give Augusta Tech a smart, academic voice, with a friendly and approachable tone. Their wide range of weights allows for expressions from studious, to bold + exciting, and are great for both long-format reading and data, and punchy, attention-grabbing headlines.
We’ve Got Spirit
And so does Augusta Technical College. The spirit mark developed for their pre-existing Cougar mascot give on and off-campus materials the collegiate feel necessary to engage students.
Dr. Jermaine Whirl, President – Augusta Technical College
“Augusta Tech is elated to launch our new brand in partnership with Wier / Stewart. They’ve been essential in helping us reintroduce Augusta Tech to the community in a new way, and we’re positive that our message will connect with business and industry, students, alumni, employees alike!”
We gotta say.
“Throughout this rebrand, I learned so much about Augusta Tech and how they contribute to supporting the local community. It has been a privilege to partner with ATC and be a small part of their growing momentum.”
— Sarah Maffetone / Account Manager
“We immensely enjoyed working with a client that is so woven into the fabric of our hometown. This project was personal to us, not only because Wier / Stewart boasts multiple Augusta Tech alums, but because we’re thrilled with the big things the future holds for them and the way they are shaping and will shape our city.”
