When it was time for perennial partner Listerhill Credit Union to launch a new mortgage campaign, we took our primary inspiration from their renowned local, friendly and knowledgeable service. With the added differentiator that members' mortgages would stay with Listerhill—their mortgage would never be sold to another bank—we created an authentic campaign that celebrates all things local, handmade and homegrown.

The Situation.

With a boom in home-buying and lending due to the historically low interest rates of 2021, Listerhill needed a fresh, stand-out mortgage campaign to highlight what makes them the lender of choice in their key markets of Southern Tennessee and Northern Alabama.


The Solution.

Our campaign, Homegrown Loans, leaned into what makes, and has always made, Listerhill unique among their competitors—their community investment, authenticity and personal care for their members. Making mortgages a not-dry subject is a challenge we were ready for, so we made it fun (and relevant) by reflecting Listerhill’s salt-of-the-earth attitude, which helped engage their key blue-collar customer base.


The Results.

Clever copy, arresting visuals, and unique marketing tactics combined to create a campaign that facilitated Listerhill’s most successful mortgage lending year, ever, which also bled over into a powerful start to 2022.

Being all about authenticity means we designed and had this cross-stitch hoop made for real, which we then photographed for a variety of campaign touchpoints.

Guerilla Market-ing

Taking it to the streets. We pitched a farmers market booth as the perfect local tie-in and cheeky touch to the campaign, with cool giveaways like shopping bags, and real "Heirloom Deeds" seed packets stuffed with all the good info about Listerhill Mortgages.

The Results

Our campaign helped Listerhill blow past every mortgage lending goal they set, eventually delivering Listerhill’s most successful mortgage lending year ever, and they continued to see powerful numbers far into 2022.
