Catching Some (Brain) Waves

NEBA's latest offering, which we dubbed Uplink, is an FDA cleared electrotherapy device for treating depression, anxiety and insomnia. It uses very low current electrical pulses to give patients relief and they can administer it themselves at home. As an offering aimed at adults, it necessitated a little more maturity in execution while still feeling like a member of the larger brand family.

To introduce doctors and clinicians to Uplink, we created a custom promotional package which NEBA shipped directly to potential partners. Gloss finishes on our dish and wave patterns give the piece a high end, tech feel.

The whole thing is based off waves and signals. From that standpoint, there’s something very straightforward about it, which is great, because the design is meant to be a literal representation of the direct connection the device makes with your brain. Science!

All the Buzz

The device itself almost looks like an effects pedal (which really struck a chord with us). To give it an air of medical, technological and brand-savvy appropriateness, we carried our Uplink identity through into the gadget. Electrifying.

We needed a brand solution. We’d been busy developing technologies for brain health, but we didn’t have a coherent brand strategy to integrate the pieces. W/S listened to us, took time to understand what we needed and delivered a literally “stellar” solution. They created a “space” theme for our brand that is extensible across our products and services. The strategy is genius. And Uplink™ is just the latest in a series of successful moon shots.
