Our Favorite Shucking Party

Every year, the Gerty Herby (that's the Gertrude Herbert Institute of Art for those not on a nickname basis) dresses up and throws, in our opinion, one of Augusta's best parties of the year. All you can eat oysters, free-flowing beverages of all description, music and, most importantly, art. Every year we have the distinct pleasure of dishing up the invites and collaterals. We were feeling nostalgic this year for the crisp evenings, string lights and beautiful camaraderie at Oysters, so we went old-school cookbook. It just felt right.

This is the most wonderful time of the year, and this is, HANDS DOWN the best party there is. The Gerty Herby has a very special place in my heart, and I look forward to working on this project. Lauren did, too. And this year, when they asked if there was a way to commemorate her memory somehow, we knew some paper stocks that always made LC’s eyes light up. So that glitter envelope was non-negotiable. Also, the inclusion of pink and the unicorn was very much in her honor. She was a rose and did sparkle.

Each year as our annual fundraiser nears, the excitement and anticipation builds around what the invite is going to look like. The design is always incredible and creative and, most importantly, they capture the essence of our organization. You can feel the love and care that went into the design process and every detail is spot on. I love that Wier / Stewart makes us the best-dressed fundraiser in town! And I can tell you people remember getting our invites in the mail.
